Originally from the Greater Boston area, Dr. Chelsey Cioli has devoted her life to understanding the intersection of movement, performance, and human anatomy. She began her training at Indiana University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Contemporary Dance in 2016. During her time there, she trained under Elizabeth Shea and worked with guest artists and companies including Keigwin + Company, Parsons Dance, and Dayton Contemporary Dance Company.
Following graduation, Chelsey moved to New York City, where she performed professionally with Shift Dance, Bryce Dance Company, and Uniquart Ballet. She appeared in festivals across New York—most notably the Dumbo Dance Festival—and toured throughout the Northeast and Southeast, including engagements in New York, Boston, Vermont, Florida, and Pennsylvania.
In addition to her performance career, Chelsey expanded her expertise in human movement by working in physical therapy clinics and as a personal trainer. Her dedication to bridging dance and science led her to pursue a Doctorate in Chiropractic with a Sports Medicine emphasis at the Southern California University of Health Sciences, which she completed in 2022.
Today, Dr. Cioli treats a diverse patient population, including dancers, high school football players, collegiate baseball athletes, and junior Olympic soccer players. She specializes in integrative, movement-based care that supports both injury prevention and high-level performance.
We are delighted to host Dr. Cioli’s return to Lucca as a proud Dance Italia alumnus from our 2014 program.
