Making - a toolbox

Taught by

Ricera X

The workshop will focus on the creative process, considering a number of aspects connected to the artistic creation in relation to the broader cultural context. Where do I start a process? Which tools do I choose? Which parameters do I consider? Which methods do I develop? What is the knowledge I am involving? How do I position myself in relation to a broader creative context?

The aim of the workshop is to offer a toolkit approach to creative processes and artistic materials, which can be used as a shared reference point from different perspectives and different roles involved in the making of art and choreography: makers, dancers, observers.

By opening up the reflection on creative processes within the field of performing arts, theater and choreography, the performativity of the body and the theatrical devices surrounding it are explored and questioned. To focus on the research phase, rather than on production, allows to consider the body and the performative setting as a tool of knowledge production.
